Minister informed Carlos Rotondaro:
Among final of January and before next February 15, Venezuela will receive the first lot of bovine against the influenza AH1N1, conformed by a total of 300 thousand dose. Informed this way it this Thursday the minister of the Popular Power for the Health, Carlos Rotondaro who also highlighted that the vaccine has controls of quality that guarantee full effectiveness.
"Studies have indicated that the vaccine is effective. In fact, it is applying in countries like Mexico, where there was one of the strongest buds, in Brazil and in countries of Europe", it pointed out. Also, the official indicated that the mechanism of distribution of the vaccines in the country corresponds to the population's high-priority and more vulnerable sector who you/they are pregnant women in this case, children smaller than five years, bigger adults, people with immunologic and personal assistance deficiency.
"We guarantee that these people have and they should be covered. They will distribute the vaccines at national level, in certain centers, because the population to which goes directed it is específic", remarked.
Rotondaro commented that at the present time authorities of the Ministry maintain meetings with representatives of the Pan-American Organization of the Health (OPS), in function of concluding the administrative details for the acquisition of the dose entirety with those that Venezuela will count.
In a same way, it sustained that Venezuela is in the recruiting process, but the vaccines against the new influenza, which has affected 2 thousand 824 Venezuelans and Venezuelans at least.
Until the last report of the National Institute of Hygiene Rafael Rangel, for January 19, of a total of 12 thousand 564 studied cases, 9 thousand 740 were negative and 2 thousand 476 were given of high epidemic.
